JRL Taps Actress/Comedian Tina Kim for Awards Show

LOS ANGELES — JRLChartsOnline has announced that it booked actress and stand up comedian Tina Kim for the first annual JRL Gay Film Awards set for Sept. 19 in Los Angeles.

Kim is a former television reporter who later became a standup comedian. Her shows have sol out in New York, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Seattle.

"Tina Kim is a little lady with a big future,” the company said. “Her observations on growing up in a Korean immigrant family in America, her zany parents, veering between wanting to be white or black and the joys and frustrations of being single, are original, feisty and funny. Go and see her."

Kim has been featured on NBC’s “Last Comic Standing,” VH-1’s “Super Secret Movie Rules,” “The Insider” and CNN. She also has performed at venues such as the Laugh Factory, Hollywood Improv and The Ice House Comedy Club.

“Tina Kim is going to be a great asset for entertainment for our industry,” said Rudy Nava, executive editor-in-chief of JRLChartsOnline. “She is going to bring the house down Sunday, Sept. 19 at the JRL Gay Film Awards. Be prepared to be in constant laughter!"

JRL also announced the kick-off of consumer voting for the JRL Gay film Awards on July 9 — the same day that tickets for the event go on sale and the official website launches.
