That revelation was made after it filed suit against the operator of RedTubes.us, claiming the site and its name is too similar to its own and is violating its trademark.
The suit filed at U.S. District Court in Alexandria, Va., targets two individuals, as well as their Lebanon-based business — Flowers Lebanon Delivery — which markets the adult dating site, RedTubes.us.
Hong Kong-based Bright Imperial Ltd, which owns RedTube.com, claims that RedTube.us has been in operation for about a year and that its operators have attempted to alter their registration details to avoid potential liability or injunctive relief.
Attorneys for Bright Imperial are seeking an injunction transferring ownership of the site to it, compensatory damages to be determined at trial and $100,000 in statutory damages.
Bright Imperial said in the suit that RedTube.comhas become a dominant player over its three-year history, with its standings catapulting it to No. 3 in terms of traffic for an adult site It also said the site is the 63rd most-trafficked site in the world, ranking ahead of NYTimes.com.
In the suit, Bright Imperial said it owns the following domain names, besides RedTube.com:

Bright Imperial also noted in the suit that it has successfully registered its trademark in Australia, Switzerland, Singapore and Iceland.
Bright Imperial counsel Thayer Preece and Sheldon Kline, both of the law firm Sheppard, Mullin, Richter and Hampton, did not immediately respond to XBIZ for comment on the case.
