GameLink Revamps, Seeks Staff

SAN FRANCISCO — Seasoned adult retailer GameLink, in business since 1993, launched a new online interface this week as part of a string of upgrades the company has scheduled for the new year.

The launch includes a new beta search service designed to provide better results when users search through the more than 100,000 DVD and video titles, thousands of sex toys and performance aids and a massive video-on-demand library currently available on the GameLink website.

Michael Voss, GameLink’s director of business development, said results returned by the new search service would increase, while at the same time be more relevant to the user’s query.

“Most of the site enhancements over the last few years have been backend stuff, and now we are rolling out several user interface features which will showcase the technology,” Voss said. “The search is completely unique to what’s out there; every title, star and description is now searchable. There is now a way for anyone to find what they want.”

In simplified terms, GameLink’s new search services searches product descriptions in addition to just titles and stars. For example, a search for “young Asian with large boobs” feeds back more results that are potentially relevant to the customer, which can then be grouped by studio, price, star or category.

Voss said that along with the company’s technology upgrade, GameLink also is upgrading its staff, and is currently looking for experienced online marketing professionals to join the GameLink team.
