The Cursed XXX

Will Ryder’s supernatural thriller is excellent couples fare, well acted and directed, with an entertaining story in the “Exorcist,” vein plus seven sex scenes.

Brad Armstrong plays a burnt-out porn producer who owns a cam house in the Hollywood hills where hot young women are on camera day and night. Only he and his wife (Kat Dior) know that the house has a creepy past. Strange sounds are often heard and weird things happen. The girls put the blame on new addition Abigail (Riley Reid), who is behaving mighty peculiar.

When a dead girl is found in the swimming pool, Los Angeles police detectives Sarah Vandella and Seth Gamble suspect Brad. Brad brings in a priest to do an exorcism but he is stricken during the process. Clearly an evil spirit is at work.

One of the girls, Chloe Scott in a non-sex performance, is found to be the target of what is known as The Entity. The plot goes all over the place, but director Ryder keeps the pace so brisk it doesn’t really matter.

The movie has drama, comedy (Misty Stone’s banana class), good FX and lots of sex. The extra-large cast is excellent, with especially good work by Brad, Kat, Riley, plus non-sex stalwarts James Bartholet (the priest) and Frank Bukkwyd. Plus a tag line that rings true: “Some problems even the police can’t solve.”
