Over the course of her career in the industry, Christy, Manager of Creator Experience at Clips4Sale, has learned that understanding people is just as important as understanding numbers. Data, traffic and trends all matter, but the part of the business that continues to resonate most with her is the human connection behind it all. Speaking with Christy, it quickly becomes clear how much she genuinely loves what she does and how seriously she takes the responsibility of supporting creators and their communities.
Christy first entered the adult industry about seven years ago through membership sales and customer retention at MindGeek — a role that gave her an up-close look at the fan side of the business.
I’m watching the legal and legislative landscape really closely. Age verification and financial censorship have significant impacts on our creators, and the creator economy as a whole.
“It was a highly customer-focused role that gave me a real understanding of what drives fans,” she recalls.
Those early conversations helped shape the perspective she still carries today. Before she was helping creators navigate the business side of adult, she was learning how much emotional connection exists beneath the surface of subscriptions, memberships and fan loyalty.
“Much of this industry is data-driven, which is important, but having conversations with consumers gave me insights I still rely on today," she says. "I'll never forget selling my first 10-year membership. It really puts into perspective how meaningful this space is in people's lives."
At the time, Christy assumed her position would probably be temporary, but she kept finding new reasons to stay as new opportunities emerged and mentors encouraged her to keep growing.
"I made the move to Clips4Sale before it transitioned to Centro," she explains. "My initial role was managing the support department, then I shifted to working on product."
When the creator experience role opened up, it felt like everything she had been building toward finally came together in one place, letting her focus on what she connected with most: working with people.
More Than Metrics
These days, Christy's work centers around staying closely connected to both creators and the support team that works with them every day. It is fast-moving, collaborative work that requires communication, adaptability and a genuine understanding of the people at its heart.
That constant interaction is also part of what keeps the work exciting for her. No two creators operate the same way, and Christy genuinely enjoys helping people figure out what works best for them individually rather than forcing everyone into the same formula.
"Clips4Sale has the best creator support team in the business, and it's because of the people," she affirms. "Every day, our team works with creators to provide hands-on, individualized advice on how to grow their businesses."
As more online platforms lean into automation and self-service systems, Christy says Clips4Sale has worked hard to maintain a more human approach.
"We have webinars and group sessions, but a lot of the work the team does is one-on-one," she explains. "I learn a lot from the creators and our team."
That kind of connection matters even more in the fetish space, where creators often work within very specific niches and face challenges that require a more nuanced understanding of both the content and the community around it. Christy says a big part of the job is simply knowing how to listen, something she and her team take seriously as the platform continues to grow and evolve.
"Fetish is unlike any other market, and we're subject-matter experts," she says. "We have people on the team who have vast institutional knowledge of the community and creator economy."
Behind the scenes, Christy also spends much of her time coordinating across departments to make sure creators and support staff have the resources they need. At the same time, she keeps a close eye on the broader industry and the challenges creators increasingly face outside the platform itself.
"I'm watching the legal and legislative landscape really closely," she says. "Age verification and financial censorship have significant impacts on our creators and the creator economy as a whole."
For Christy, supporting creators goes far beyond answering questions and troubleshooting problems. Many creators are building businesses largely on their own, and she sees part of her role as helping provide guidance, stability and reassurance wherever she can.
"We have thousands of creators, but everyone is different, and everyone needs a different strategy," she observes. "A lot of what we do is business coaching, or even life coaching. The creator community is so wildly talented and creative. A lot of creators work alone or without larger support networks, and Clips4Sale is here for them."
Women Leading Women
Chat with Christy for more than a few minutes and one thing becomes very clear: she does not view success as something that happens alone. Throughout her career, mentorship, collaboration and community have all played major roles in shaping both her confidence and the way she leads.
"Salima, the Executive Director of Creator Experience, has been key in building up the team and the program," she says. "She has been so influential in both my growth and the growth of the team."
That support left a lasting impression on Christy and continues to shape the environment she creates for those around her.
"My proudest achievements have been in developing the talent on our team," she says. "What our creator success team does with creators, I try to replicate with my team. And they're the best there is."
For Christy, that sense of community is one of the best parts of working in adult. While the industry is often misunderstood from the outside, she says the reality inside those spaces looks very different, especially for women in leadership.
"There's so much stigma and misinformation about women in this industry, at least from the outside," she says. "But come through the doors of a show like XBIZ and you realize it's powered and run by women."
That support system is something Christy does not take lightly. While she acknowledges the industry still faces many of the same challenges seen elsewhere, she says the women around her have consistently helped push her forward throughout her career.
"Adult isn't immune to the same structural issues as other industries," she says. "But throughout my time in the industry, women have really lifted me up and helped me thrive. I think about people like Meghan Stokes, Liz Rek and, most of all, Salima."
Fueled by Coffee and Curiosity
After spending so much of her day supporting creators and navigating the fast pace of the industry, Christy lights up when talking about the smaller things that bring her joy.
"When I'm not working, you'll usually find me at a café, searching for the perfect latte — bonus points if it's pretty enough for Instagram," she jokes. "I'm also a huge music fan, and am lucky to live in a city with a vibrant music scene, so I spend a lot of time going to concerts."
That same curiosity and openness carry over into how she thinks about the future of her work as well. As Clips4Sale continues to expand internationally, Christy says one of her biggest priorities is ensuring creators feel supported wherever they are in the world.
"As we continue to expand into new markets, I want to make sure that we're accessible to creators everywhere," she says. "I'm currently working on improving my French and trying to learn Spanish, so I can better connect with some of our non-English-speaking creators."
For Christy, it all comes back to communication and making people feel seen and understood. No matter where creators are located, she wants them to feel like someone is genuinely listening.
"Fetish isn't limited by geography," she says.
