Q&A: Screaming O’s Conde Aumann Talks New Charged Line of Rechargeables

Q&A: Screaming O’s Conde Aumann Talks New Charged Line of Rechargeables

Known worldwide for its brand of fun and colorful, affordably priced body-safe (battery-operated) reusable toys, Screaming O has unveiled its first-ever range of rechargeable pleasure products. Pairing high-end features such as a two-year warranty with competitive pricing, Screaming O says its newest release is part of what the company calls the “Screaming O Treatment.” Conde Aumann, Screaming O’s account executive, sat down with XBIZ Premiere to offer more information about the new Charged lineup.

XBIZ: Is this the first rechargeable collection from Screaming O? What inspired the company to adopt this category?

When we decided to launch a line of rechargeable products, we started from scratch and built the motors from the ground up — from the choice of battery to the type of charging connection to the low-pitched vibration and power.

Conde Aumann: Yes, Charged is the first rechargeable collection from Screaming O and we’re so proud of it. As part of what we call the “Screaming O Treatment,” we look at product categories that are in need of a fresh perspective, more competitive pricing, and more accessibility to users. We’ve had great success in making body-safe reusables at affordable prices and we knew it was time to make a better, more powerful, and more accessible series of rechargeables that offer intense vibration, body-safe materials and reliable battery power.

XBIZ: Discuss the key features of the collection. How does it deliver value?

Aumann: When we decided to launch a line of rechargeable products, we started from scratch and built the motors from the ground up — from the choice of battery to the type of charging connection to the low-pitched vibration and power. Charged makes it easy for suppliers to boost profits while introducing a more affordable series of powerful rechargeables that shoppers can feel good about purchasing. Screaming O believes that people of all budgets, lifestyles and interests deserve body-safe, budget-priced alternatives to higher-ticket — but rarely higher-quality — products!

The capstone product of the line is Charged Positive, a larger bullet-shaped massager that features the most powerful motor we’ve ever made — and it satisfies even the most selective sex toy fan. Charged Positive is the modern standard for intense rumbling vibration with power rivaling that of some of the most popular massagers on the market, and if there’s one thing we all know about sex toy shoppers — they’re often looking for the most powerful option out there.

XBIZ: How does the Charged line compare to other rechargeable vibe collections?

Aumann: First and foremost, Charged is more affordable than the market-leading USB-rechargeable brands, completely waterproof, and the only line to feature a cohesive, fully merchandised display supported by free custom graphics and signage. We were careful about the elements we chose to rethink because we wanted to make an impact with our attention to detail.

All Charged items feature a two-year warranty as part of our dedication to consumer trust and satisfaction and are powered by deep, rumbling Vooom vibration. The line’s rechargeable battery is a safer option — a lightweight Li-poly variety that won’t overcharge, leak or overheat — and is boosted using a stable and secure plug, rather than an unreliable magnetic clip. Charged plugs insert easily into every unit and stay put for the duration of the charge time, so users can power up fast and hassle-free. It’s one of my personal favorite features.

XBIZ: Discuss the popularity of the Vooom bullet and the other styles adapted for this collection.

Aumann: Vooom has become one of Screaming O’s most popular and in-demand features in our catalog thanks to its uniquely different rumbling vibration sensation. Vooom vibration was first introduced via colorful single-speed Vooom Bullets and customers went nuts for its deeper feel, so we’ve been incorporating Vooom into many new releases. And we knew that if we were going to create an affordable body-safe rechargeable collection and do it right, it had to be powered by the Vooom motor.

Charged Vooom offers current fans of Screaming O products the opportunity to upgrade just about any reusable (aka watch battery) Screaming O product to a rechargeable toy by just purchasing the Charged Vooom motor, as it is the same circumference as the original Vooom Bullet and only slightly longer. We also took three of our most popular original shapes – the FingO, the O Wow and the Ohare – and made them into a Charged version. Adding rechargeable Vooom technology to fan-favorite shapes gives our supply chain a quality upsell from our battery-operated counterparts and offers next-level vibration for users looking for an upgrade.

XBIZ: What response has the collection received so far? When will it be available?

Aumann: We can’t write orders fast enough. Customers love what we have been able to accomplish via the “Screaming O Treatment” because all of the upgrades ultimately benefit their bottom lines. Intense power plus affordable price points equals happy customers all around!

Charged is available now, so please contact your preferred rep or email info@thescreamingo.com!

XBIZ: How does the Charged Spinning Counter Display showcase the products most effectively?

Aumann: Screaming O’s spinning displays are one of our most popular merchandising devices because they hang the highest amount of our product in the smallest amount of space, and the Charged spinning display offers an especially compact footprint. The spinner sits neatly on a countertop and comes stocked with 32 total products, and there’s space for multiple colors of each SKU. Screaming O’s variety of displays takes the guesswork out of merchandising and makes it easy for stores to create eye-catching product presentations designed to increase sales.

Years ago, I was deeply involved in upgrading the security camera system at a store in Hawaii. The process took several months. We provided store diagrams, mapped out camera lines of sight, waited for quotes, then coordinated with a contractor to install everything. It cost thousands — and by the time I left that position, the system still wasn’t fully operational.
