Vivid national sales manager Howard Levine confirmed to XBIZ that the disc arrived at the company’s shipping facility today.
Vivid had planned to release Thomas’ big-budget remake on April 18 in standard definition, HD DVD and Blu-ray simultaneously, but had to push back the Blu-ray release date.
“We wanted 'Debbie Does Dallas...Again' to be properly licensed with full copyright protection,” Levine said. "This is the first, true, legitimately licensed adult Blu-ray disc. We didn’t strip the copy protection; this wasn’t a homemade job. If you’re looking for the Real McCoy, this is it."
The highly anticipated movie is a remake of the iconic 1970s film about sexually adventurous cheerleaders. "Debbie Does Dallas... Again" stars Stefani Morgan, Hillary Scott, Penny Flame, Staci Thorn, Courtney Simpson, Savanna Samson, Monique Alexander, Samantha Ryan, Cassidey, Lacie Heart and Sunny Leone.
Premium cable channel Showtime Too is scheduled to re-air its reality series that depicted the making of "Debbie Does Dallas... Again" starting on July 4. Check the Showtime website for air dates and times.
Levine also confirmed an Aug. 8 release date for Eon McKai’s Vivid-Alt re-imagining of the original Golden Age-era film, titled "Debbie Does Dallas".
