Falcon Studios Acquires Massive Studio

SAN FRANCISCO — Gay adult studio Falcon Entertainment has acquired Massive Studio, the boutique label founded in 2003 by director John Bruno. It is the latest episode in gay adult’s ongoing consolidation. The fourteen-film Massive Studio catalog and dedicated website are now under the Falcon umbrella.

Massive Studio joins the Falcon Studios, Jocks Studios, Mustang Studios and Falcon International labels, and their respective websites.

“John has developed a strong brand that will perfectly complement our other studios,” Falcon Director of Promotions Troy Prickett told XBIZ. “Massive will become an important part of Falcon Entertainment’s move to having strong online properties.”

The relaunched Massive website website is scheduled to go live today with 50 erotic vignettes. The site is being launched to coincide with the Folsom Street Fair this weekend in San Francisco, where Falcon will unveil a joint Mustang-Massive booth display.

A free one-day trial will be offered to fans at the festival.

Bruno told XBIZ he believes the Massive and Mustang aesthetic are a good match.

“Not many other websites offer our kind of masculine, muscular men,” he said. “Most of them go the younger CorbinFisher or RandyBlue route. So this is going to be something different.”

He said a DVD titled “The Men of Massive” will street October 28, which collects eight scenes originally streamed online and featuring a mix of new and proven talent.

Bruno also confirmed that fresh Massive Studio content will likely debut in a similar fashion, with scenes first debuting online to be compiled later for DVD release.

“But I am looking forward to returning to my ‘Hard Cops’ and ‘Hard Mechanics’ series at some point,” he said.

Performers set to appear at the Massive-Mustang Folsom booth include Dillon Buck, Jake Dakota, Wolf Hudson, Dominic Pacifico and Josh West.

Performer Steve Cruz, whose directorial debut “Blue Movie” wraps this week for Mustang Studios, will also appear.

Falcon’s acquisition of Massive Studio continues the consolidation in the gay adult business. Over the past several years, Channel 1 Releasing absorbed both All Worlds Video and Catalina Video, and Titan Media bought the MSR Videos catalog.

More recently, Dark Alley Media purchased PrimePork Studios, Raging Stallion Studios acquired High Octane Productions, and Bear OmniMedia bought Brush Creek Media.
