AmateurAction.net Owner Indicted for Obscenity

MALPITAS, Calif. — The owner of adult website AmateurAction.net has been indicted by a California grand jury on four charges related to distributing obscene materials. The charges are tied into the mail order of several videos ordered through the website.

The site’s owner, Robert Alan Thomas, was charged in U.S. District Court in San Jose with four total counts: three counts of mailing obscene material and one count of operating a business that sells obscene matters.

The alleged obscene DVDs were mailed to Washington, D.C. in December 2006.

AmateurAction.net sells DVDs for $3.99 each that feature “Pissing, Fisting, Peeing, Golden Showers, BDSM, Extreme Insertions, & Sex Fetish DVD Videos,” according to the site’s headline. The performers in the movies appear to be amateurs.

According to the indictment, the movies in question contain bestiality and other hardcore acts.

The government is seeking forfeiture of assets earned through the site, along with the materials and property used to commit the alleged offenses. Thomas faces five years in prison for each count if convicted.

Matthew Buzzelli of the Criminal Division’s Obscenity Prosecution Task Force is prosecuting the case.

An email was sent to Thomas seeking comment.
