CO-ED Magazine: Romney Will Be McCain's Running Mate

CYBERSPACE — An online magazine that boasts a Shane's World star as its resident sex therapist claims to have scooped the likes of CNN, MSNBC and Fox News.

The sexy and funny mainstream blog CO-ED Magazine has predicted that presumptive Republican presidential nominee John McCain will choose former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney as his running mate — and they're saying we can bank on it.

Known for its ruminations on bikini models, sports and embarrassing viral videos, CO-ED Magazine recently gave Shane's World contract star Casey Parker a sex advice column.

Citing a source "closely connected" with the McCain campaign, CO-ED Magazine said that money is what will put Romney on the ticket.

"Though others were close in the running, the choice ultimately came down to the money, not the man," CO-ED staff member Andrew wrote. "According to our source, the campaign narrowed their Vice Presidential options to Mike Huckabee and Mitt Romney, the two most successful opponents of McCain in the bid for the Republican nomination. But despite Huckabee's sway with far Right conservatives and evangelical voters, Romney packs the deepest fund-raising pockets."

Because of presumptive Democratic nominee Barack Obama's vast fundraising advantage, CO-ED Magazine wrote that McCain chose Romney over Huckabee because Romney would automatically bring in "upwards of $60 million in 30 to 60 days, whereas Huckabee could only raise $10 to $15 million."

CO-ED Magazine did not touch on whether Romney's resources would even be available to McCain, who initially opted out of public financing for his campaign, only to seek public funds later.

Romney was the de facto runner-up in the 2008 Republican presidential primary, winning 11 states, 4.5 million votes and 272 delegates. Former Arkansas governor Huckabee captured eight states, 4.1 million votes and 270 delegates.

CO-ED Magazine also claimed that the McCain campaign chose to leak this news to them in an effort to appeal to college-age voters, who are breaking for Obama in large numbers.
