Deep Star is a collaboration between the heads of two adult studios, John Chambliss of Simon Wolf Productions and Richard Arnold of Pure Play Media.
“Through the initial launch, which took place [July 7], Heat On Demand is now being introduced to 2,000,000 VOD homes in the United States — a rather significant achievement, [considering] that we’ve only been operational four months,” Deep Star CEO Arnold said.
Arnold said the service has received considerable interest from cable companies, and he expects it will triple its current market penetration by October.
Heat On Demand offers exclusive content from adult talent, studios, directors and independent producers such as Michael Ninn (who serves as creative director for the channel), Simon Wolf, Suze Randall, Private Media Group and Illicit Pictures.
Heat On Demand also is the exclusive home to VOD content from director/performer Seymore Butts, star of the adult reality show “Family Business,” now in its fourth season on Showtime.
John Chambliss, president of Deep Star noted, “Each of our major studios, producers and directors have previously demonstrated the exceptional strength of their skills under contracts with our competition. Now they belong exclusively to Deep Star’s ever-growing family of filmmakers.
“Collectively, they enable Heat On Demand to deliver the broadest spectrum and highest quality content available in today’s marketplace — an offering of 17 distinctly unique content categories.”
Chambliss added that Heat On Demand offers a revenue-sharing program that makes involvement in the service attractive to filmmakers and other content providers.
“It is very gratifying to know that someone has finally recognized the importance of producers and directors as the life-blood of domestic adult television and is expressing their appreciation by handing us an annual percentage of the profits they derive from our work,” Robert Herrera, CEO of Illicit Pictures, said of the program.
In August, Deep Star will will follow up its Heat On Demand debut with the launch of a XX-rated Spanish-language VOD service, Caliente En Demanda.
