Stormy Daniels' D.C. Appearance Makes L.A. Times Political Blog

LOS ANGELES — Adult director/performer Stormy Daniels' appearance yesterday at a Washington D.C. press conference for ASACP and its RTA label caught the attention of Los Angeles Times political blogger Jim Puzzanghera.

The press conference, which also featured Wicked Pictures vice president of special projects Joy King and ASACP CEO Joan Irvine, presented new public service announcements for the Restricted to Adults website label. RTA defines sites as inappropriate for users under 18 and triggers filtering software blocking. Irvine said that more than 4 million web pages display the RTA label.

Puzzanghera referred to the press conference as "rated NC-17, as in: No Chance a politician would get within 17 miles of it."

The blog entry points out that although keeping children away from adult websites is universally accepted as a good idea, politicians are wary of being photographed with adult performers. Irvine admitted that she didn't invite any lawmakers to the ASACP press conference, even though she has met with staff members for 30 members of Congress and the Senate recently passed a resolution declaring June to be National Internet Safety Month.

The complete blog entry can be accessed at the Los Angeles Times website.
