The XBIZ Weekly Tech Round-up

CYBERSPACE — This week's Tech Round-up is filled with futuristic flights of fancy for adult webmasters, including new HD cameras, new ways to search the Internet, and that staple of futurism — a flying car.

• A new French startup called IMinent.com just received a boatload of European venture capital. They offer enhancements for instant-messenging addicts, including emoticons, sounds and alerts.

• Fans of downloading torrent content have a safer search option, YouTorrent.com, which only searches legal torrent sites.

• Social-networking giant LiveUniverse.com recently bought the site PageFlakes.com, a web aggregation service with a handy drag-and-click Ajax interface.

• For the rare adult webmaster who's also a Mac user, tech company Psystar.com is selling cheap Mac clones for as long as they can until Steve Jobs destroys them.

• Believe it or not, flying cars are on the way. A new aircraft is pending FAA approval. It's not a plane or a dirigible but something in between, and it features a posh bar and lounge area.

• Sony's new Pro HD camera might not be ideal for shooting adult content, but it's the first of its kind to feature an OLED viewfinder.

• For adult producers who simply must have the industry-favorite handle on top of the camera, Panasconic has a new HD camera, too.

• Hitachi has unveiled a line of huge new HD TVs.

• There's a new fad in clothing: HearWare. These garments change colors based on the sounds that surround the wearer.

• Gizmodo has a review of Verizon's new iPhone knockoff, the HTC Touch. It's a mixed review.

• Gizmodo also gives a thumbs-down to Dell's new LCD monitor.

• The new Hulu.com video website may become available for mobile services. To date, the site still offers no adult content, but it does offer a huge assortment of Hollywood movies and TV shows.

• A new kind of visual search engine is coming to the iPhone in June. Watch a demo of it at YouTube.
