‘Not The Bradys XXX’ Tops Hot Movies

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Production company X-Play’s “Not the Bradys XXX” has topped video-on-demand provider HotMovies.com’s rental chart two weeks after the title made its VOD debut on the network.

“We've never had a title shoot up the charts so quickly,” HotMovies.com director of business development James Cybert said. "’Not the Bradys XXX’ first set a new precedent for a VOD opening week. Now the movie has rocketed to No. 1 on the viewer popularity charts in just two weeks."

The movie is featured in a promotional splash on the front page of HotMovies.com and, according to X-Play producer Jeff Mullen, continues to gain momentum in all distribution formats.

Mullen and X-Play coproducer Scott David delayed the release of the title on VOD to ensure that retailers would have ample opportunity to order and reorder the video. But according to Mullen, with sales of the title remaining consistent for several months, he and Scott felt the time was right to ink an exclusive six-month deal with HotMovies.

“We’ve been able to reach customers, including women, that might not normally purchase an adult movie, let alone walk into a porn store,” Mullen said.

“Now, with HotMovies making this movie available to an entirely new legion of fans, we’re starting to think we might have a hit on our hands,” he added. “We might have to even dust off the VHS-duping machines.”

Marc Bruder of CED is working with the production company to sell worldwide broadcast distribution of the video, and said, “This little movie is a monster title to say the least.”

“This is only the beginning. Jeff and Scott have wonderful projects in production, including this ‘Not Bewitched XXX’ movie which is a parody of the 1960s popular television show that starred Elizabeth Montgomery,” Bruder added.

X-Play is also currently planning a production based on the popular ‘70s television series “The Partridge Family.”
