KM Studios Drops DVDs for Online Distribution

WELLINGTON, New Zealand — Gay production company Keith Manheim Studios has opted to pull out of physical DVD distribution.

“We have decided to go digital; that way we can better serve our customer and we at KM Studios believe that digital distribution is the way to go," director/studio owner Keith Manheim said.

"This is also a great way to help the environment. Now that we’ve gone all digital, we can get our products out faster and in a more efficient way and at the same time serve the needs of the consumer while being mindful of our carbon footprint. Consumers demand good-quality, affordable content and research shows that the majority of Internet users now have access to high-speed broadband. Consumer trends have made this decision easy.”

UIA International Inc., the company behind KM Studios, has been in business since 1997. KM Studios has been in production since early 2002, releasing eight titles since January 2005. The company also runs the affiliate program KM Bucks, where webmasters can promote the Keith Manheim website.

KM Studios content will be available on the Keith Manheim paysite, "where customers can download and own all of our releases in DRM-free video format.” Manheim said. “We offer our customers two download formats and two streaming formats. Customers have full DVD quality with all our download options. For those who do not wish to download the content, they can view it on the paysite, in either Flash video form or with a Windows Media stream.”

Content also will be available through AEBN on the KM Studio website.
