Wicked Celebrates 'Coming Home' With Barbecue

NORTH HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Adult production company Wicked Pictures celebrated the release of its new Iraq war drama "Coming Home" with a military-themed barbecue on Sunday that raised funds for charities that provide services for currently enlisted soldiers.

Olive-drab sawhorses, sandbags and 3-foot-tall artillery shells surrounded a North Hollywood light-industrial space for the party. A sand-colored tank and a giant American flag — flanked by two open bars — were just inside the door.

Stills from "Coming Home" were projected on one wall in the "Mess Hall" where guests could pick up "Da Bomb Burgers "and "Pork Missile" hot dogs and sit at long tables with olive-drab plastic tablecloths and metal mess trays. A pool table and beer kegs were arranged behind the tank in the style of an Army rec room, along with a disc jockey and dance floor.

Carnival games and a climbing wall were set up outside.

Industry blogger Luke Ford offered to sit in the dunk tank, letting people get a chance to drop him into a tank of water with a well-placed baseball throw. Photographer and XBIZ Video columnist Holly Randall was the first person to drop Ford in the tank. Later, "Coming Home" director Brad Armstrong sat in the dunk tank as well.

The carnival games and a prize lottery raised funds for soldiers' charities. Wicked Pictures President and Owner Steve Orenstein told XBIZ that some charities didn't want money from an adult-industry fundraiser, and others said they would be willing to accept the money but didn't want to be identified.

"We don't care," Orenstein said. "We raised the money for the troops. People are happy to give, and we'll be sure they get it."

Adult industry personalities in attendance included Wicked Pictures contract performers Jessica Drake, Carmen Hart, Randy Spears and Kirsten Price; directors Roy Karch, Vince Vouyer and Michael Raven; Lexi Lamour, Ethan Cage, Nicki Hunter, Tony Batman, Harry Weiss, James Bartholet, Nautica Thorn, D Cypher, Savannah Jane, Nick East, Joel Lawrence, Monstar, Mia Smiles, Chris Cannon, Tyler Faith, Ashlynn Brooke, Tommy Gunn, Terri Redor, Rob Spallone and Ron Jeremy.

"I think it was great," Orenstein told XBIZ as the party was winding down. "It fit the spirit of the movie to have an afternoon picnic, and I think everybody had a good time."

Wicked Pictures Vice President of Special Projects Joy King told XBIZ that the fundraising goal for the party was $10,000, "and I think we got very close to that."
