Metro's Pam Anderson Dies After Short Illness

CHATSWORTH, Calif. — Metro Interactive Public Relations and Marketing Manager Pam Anderson has died after a short illness. She was 34 years old.

Two weeks ago she developed sudden, unexpected abdominal pain and was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease.

"Every time she was on the road to recovery, they would do more tests and another organ had been somehow affected," Metro Interactive General Manager Christian Mann said. "Over the last two days she had been battling liver complications and aorta complications."

Mann said that Wednesday Anderson underwent a procedure involving both organs, and the prognosis was good, but later she had trouble breathing and succumbed to cardiac arrest.

In Anderson's 10-year adult career, she worked with Sean Michaels and New Sensations before moving to Metro, where she worked the past three years.

"Pam winning the Woman of the Month award from XBIZ was the highlight of her career for her," Mann told XBIZ. "She proudly had that issue mounted on a plaque in her office. The acknowledgement that she was contributing something substantive to the industry was the highest praise she could receive, and she got it from XBIZ. That was a big deal for her.

"To us it's still sudden, shocking and saddening. She'll be missed at Metro not only because of her work contributions, which were significant, but because she was a big personality."

Anderson is survived by her husband, four children and a sister. Memorial arrangements are pending.
