Lucas Entertainment Parties at N.Y. Virgin Megastore

NEW YORK — Gay adult production company Lucas Entertainment is throwing a launch event for its latest release “The Intern” at the Union Square Virgin Megastore in New York on Thursday. Afterward, the party will move to Splash Bar, located at 50 W. 17th St.

“We haven’t done this two-part party thing before, so that’s exciting,” Lucas Public Relations Director Bryan Christopher told XBIZ.

The company has hosted several events at Virgin Megastores and received positive response.

“It’s always been such a great experience,” Christopher said. “So many fans come out to support us and we always have a really fun [time] there. Everyone at Virgin is so nice and it’s great they’re doing this for a gay adult company.”

Starting at 7:30 p.m., the Virgin Megastore event will be hosted by dance diva Peppermint Gummibear and cast members from the movie.

There also will be a performance by Nekked. The musical duo has scored several of Lucas’ films and a full-length CD, “A Barrier of Skin.” The films and the band's CD are distributed by Lucas Entertainment.

Nekked will open the set for performer-turned-musician Colton Ford, who is signed with Lucas Distribution. His single “The Way You Love Me” has been getting heavy airplay on the LOGO TV network.

There also will be a round of “Win a Date With a Porn Star,” where fans will be picked from the audience and have an opportunity to compete for dinner with Lucas exclusives Ben Andrews or Jonathan Vargas.

“It should be really fun — we’re not sure who it’s going to be,” Christopher said. “It might be Ben or Jonathan, but it’s going to be like the old ‘Dating Game.’ They’ll be hidden from the star and however they answer the questions will determine the winner. Then they’re going to go out to dinner immediately to a restaurant downtown and then show up at Splash after dinner.”

At 10 p.m., the event will move to Splash Bar, where Peppermint Gummibear will go on with the show, coinciding with Alan Picus' popular weekly Campus Thursdays party with DJ Mikey Rave. DVD giveaways and cast signings will continue throughout the night.

“The Intern” cast members Ben Andrews, Michael Lucas and Jonathan Vargas are the first models confirmed for both events.
