Darren Austin Brings His Radio Show to Television

CHARLOTTE, NC – Darren Austin’s self-titled radio show is now one of the flagships of PrideNation Network’s new nationwide broadcast channel.

The show will make its television debut on PrideNation Network next month, as part of its "Gbox" broadcasting system, which is best described on the company's website: "Imagine watching Gay TV on any television set in your house. Watching Gay TV on your computer, on the top corner of your browser while you do other things. Imagine watching Gay TV on your cell phone, Palm Pilot and on your DVD membership!"

The PrideNation Network continues, "Gbox is a broadband Gay TV subscription that is full-screen, wireless and live 24 hours a day! 1000's are watching now! This revolutionary programming is like having your very own in-house closed-circuit TV! It's state-of-the-art television!" An innovative technology in search of innovative programming, and Darren Austin is set to deliver.

Taking his talk show from radio to television is a natural transition for Darren. Having a long career in both sitcoms and motion pictures makes him completely at home in front of the camera.

Darren has been working hard to bring issues that face the gay community in today’s world to his listeners. His ultimate goal is to bring awareness to both the gay and straight communities, empowering them to unite as one.

According to Darren Austin, "My goal is to bring people together and change their views and perceptions of gay people. I want to unite. It's really the fear of "not knowing" when it comes to straight peoples' opinions of gay people. They have fear because they don't know. I think that once people can conquer that fear - they can move forward."

The program will have a variety show format that highlights both musical and in-studio guests. Darren’s genuine sprit, caring demeanor and infectious laugh have dubbed him the "Shock Jock with a Heart..." Not afraid to address real and controversial issues head-on, it is his goal to eradicate the need to label a topic as gay or straight, male or female. He strongly believes that without labels there are no limits to the audience he can reach.

Check your local listings for specific show times in your area, or call 800-628-0241 ext. 117 to join the studio audience.
