Penis-Pump Judge Denies Charges; Porn on PC?

TULSA, Okla. — Judge Donald D. Thompson, the Oklahoma jurist accused of using a penis pump during trials, is also accused of having sexually explicit pictures on his state-owned computer.

The Creek County District Court judge, facing judicial misconduct charges involving moral turpitude, asked that a petition seeking his removal be dismissed on Tuesday. He now faces a Sept. 13 trial date.

In court papers obtained by XBiz, Thompson denied using a penis pump during non-jury and jury trials in his courtroom and in the presence of court employees. He also denied making attempts to show his genitals to his court reporter.

Thompson’s legal team includes attorneys Clark Brewster and Robert Nigh Jr., a prosecutor in the federal trials for convicted Oklahoma City bomber Timothy McVeigh and conspirator Terry Nichols.

The attorneys said the judge, who has handed out stiff sentences in murder cases and huge multimillion-dollar civil cases during his career, is the victim of an attempt to embarrass him.

"From that finite allegation of misconduct, the investigation and the petition filed ... have ballooned into an indeterminate series of sensational allegations," Brewster and Nigh wrote in a petition filed with the court.

But Brewster told XBiz last month that the 57-year-old judge in fact owns a penis pump — one that is made of clear plastic, has a handle and is at least 10 inches long.

Brewster at the time said that the judge has owned it for years but could not explain to XBiz why Thompson kept it under the bench.

“The penis pump was given to him as a gag gift on his 50th birthday,” Brewster told XBiz.

According to sexologist Dr. Joel Kaplan, the vacuum-like penis pump creates a pressure which is larger than a natural erection. Most men gain one to three inches in length and 25 percent in thickness.

Penis pumps are sold at sex shops worldwide and online at stores such as AdamEve.com and Hustler.com.

The judge, who was first elected to the bench more than 20 years ago in Oklahoma’s nonpartisan judicial elections, is based about 80 miles northeast of Oklahoma City in Creek County.

Lisa Foster, Thompson's court reporter for 15 years; Dianna Horath Strickland, Thompson's minute clerk for 15 years; and Zelma Hindman, Thompson's secretary, held a news conference several weeks ago at a Tulsa law office. All three said they had seen the alleged misconduct.

According to a petition from the state Attorney General’s office, Thompson fired Foster after learning that she had cooperated with officials in the misconduct investigation.

The judge said Foster was not terminated, but an inquiry was made as to whether she could work in light of the allegations.

The state Attorney General also alleges that the judge fired Hindman, who also reportedly saw the penis pump.

Thompson's brief said the decision to terminate Hindman was finalized before any allegations were made. Thompson said other employees, including Foster, helped him reach the decision to fire Hindman.

Since the complaint was filed last month, the state’s Administrative Office of Courts confirmed that the judge has been accused of having porn on his computer.
