LOS ANGELES — Pornhub has cited data on safe-for-work (SFW) content on the platform, highlighting the potential benefits to creators for directing traffic to other platforms, expanding their fanbases, and maintaining a presence in geographic locations where the site has geoblocked adult content due to age verification laws.
According to Pornhub's last year-in-review report, several SFW categories saw significant gains in traffic last year, including a 328% increase in podcast traffic, 283% in gaming traffic, and 62% in music traffic. As well, the search term "SFW" saw a 114% increase.
"The data reflects an expanding idea of what visitors come to Pornhub to find and a clear opportunity for creators," said a rep. "Existing Pornhub creators can turn that demand into additional revenue alongside their adult content, while creators new to the platform can reach audiences seeking a wider range of videos on one of the world’s most visited platforms."
"That reach even extends to select regions where Pornhub is currently restricted: SFW videos can still surface for visitors in those regions, strategically putting creators before audiences they may not otherwise reach."
Added VP Brand and Community Alex Kekesi, "Pornhub is a cultural access point where creators can build an audience around the full range of who they are. Creators invest time, creativity, and resources into their content. Safe-for-work uploads give them another way to earn from the broader range of what they create, including content they may have published elsewhere, giving content a second life and earning more."
