Payment Gateway Centrobill to Attend TES Prague

Payment Gateway Centrobill to Attend TES Prague

LOS ANGELES — Payment gateway Centrobill will attend TES Prague, which runs Sept. 25-28.

Representatives from the global payment processor, which specializes in servicing subscription commerce, digital goods, gaming, dating, and specialty verticals that traditional processors may turn away, will be on hand to answer questions about onboarding, acquiring strategy, and account redundancy planning.

Centrobill will also answer questions about Mastercard's new Scam Merchant Monitoring Program (SMMP) and localized payment methods for merchants expanding into the EU.

"The number one thing merchants come to us with isn't cost; it's not knowing: ‘Is our account going to stay live?’ ‘Is it going to stay healthy?’” said Centrobill CSO Len Garcia. “That uncertainty is the real problem we're solving for."

According to a rep, SMMP replaces ratio-based chargeback programs with an investigation-led model, with merchants in their first six months of Mastercard acceptance facing the highest scrutiny. Combined refunds and chargebacks above 5% of at least 500 transactions in 30 days can trigger a 72-hour acquirer investigation, and confirmed scam activity halts Mastercard and Maestro acceptance immediately. Mastercard's guidance names adult content directly.

“Rules like this will keep evolving as card networks tighten their standards, which is exactly why Centrobill works directly with acquiring banks and card network contacts, so a merchant's business is already documented and understood before a question ever comes up,” a company rep said.

Meanwhile, Centrobill reps will also be on hand to help customers navigate the local checkout requirements European nations employ — including iDEAL in the Netherlands and Bancontact in Belgium.
