FSC Releases Statement on Latest 5th Circuit Decision in Texas AV Injunction Case

LOS ANGELES — The Free Speech Coalition (FSC) has released a statement about the ongoing litigation against Texas' anti-porn age verification law, which mandates propaganda labels on adult websites.

The FSC statement follows:

Earlier this week, the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals converted the short term “administrative” stay to a “merits” based one that gives the court more time while it evaluates a full ruling on our preliminary injunction. Nothing changes materially — Texas is still free to begin filing suit against sites without adequate age-verification — which they have so far refrained from doing while the case is pending.

It is important to remember that all of the current litigation revolves around the injunction itself — whether or not Texas can begin enforcing the law while courts evaluate the larger constitutional issues. Should any platform be contacted by the state of Texas, Louisiana, Utah or any other state that has an age-verification law, it’s imperative that they contact FSC immediately.
