VDOM's Glenise Kinard-Moore Attends Chanel Mentorship Workshop

VDOM's Glenise Kinard-Moore Attends Chanel Mentorship Workshop

ATLANTA — SkiiMoo Tech founder and 2022 Black Ambition Prize recipient Glenise Kinard-Moore, creator of prosthetic genital device The VDOM, recently participated in a mentorship workshop at Chanel's New York offices.

The all-day event gave Kinard-Moore the opportunity to attend interactive workshops advised by Chanel leaders that focused on successfully launching and sustaining brands.

Over 30 winners attended for a day of knowledge-sharing, networking and leadership. The event was led by Chanel Inc. President and Chief Operating Officer John Galanti, alongside Black Ambition founder Pharrell Williams and Chief Executive Officer Felicia Hatcher.

Having won the $250,000 prize, Kinard Moore “is proudly flying the flag for the underrepresented sextech industry,” said a rep. “As the only sextech company in the competition and one of 3,000 entrants, the win is hugely significant for the LGBTQ+ community and the sexual wellness industry.”

Kinard-Moore described attending the Chanel mentorship workshop as “a real ‘pinch me’ moment. For a Black-owned sexual wellness brand to be celebrated on a mainstream stage and to be recognized for our work is truly empowering. It has been an extremely challenging journey to get to this stage with the difficulties of sexual health and wellness stigmas and the reshaping of societal opinions when thinking of the needs of others that are usually not on the forefront.”

The Black Ambition Prize Competition, Kinard-Moore added, has given SkiiMoo Tech recognition, empowerment and acceptance that the company once only dreamed of.

“The guidance made available to us throughout the program, from the huddles with the most supportive, intelligent, experienced and resourceful leaders and then the pitch training from one of the best teachers in the industry — the Black Ambition Prize Competition team truly showed that they understood what founders and entrepreneurs need on their journey,” Kinard-Moore enthused.

"I truly appreciate Pharrell and the Black Ambition Prize Competition family for seeing us and clearly understanding our mission with The VDOM and backing us on this journey," Kinard-Moore concluded.
