Pineapple Support to Address Complex PTSD With New Support Group

LOS ANGELES — Pineapple Support will host a free, weekly online support group for performers struggling with PTSD.

The group, "Complex PTSD: Exploring and Understanding Attachment Trauma," will take place over six weeks and will be led by Pineapple Support therapist Alex Zoloto. The first meeting will be held on Monday at 7 p.m. EDT.

"If you struggle to fit in, feel hopeless or lonely, grapple with relationships, or engage in harmful or risky behaviors, this group may be for you," said Zoloto. "The group will explore the origins of complex PTSD and will help to guide participants on where to go next. We’ll help you to implement the skills to begin coping and healing."

Founded in 2018 by Leya Tanit, Pineapple Support has connected over 8,000 adult performers and industry members to mental health services, including free and low-cost therapy, counseling and emotional support.

"In this six-week group, we’ll explore complex PTSD and help you to understand what it is and how it differs from more traditional definitions of PTSD," said Tanit. "Alex has helped many people that have struggled with trauma to regain hope and become the best version of themselves. He will use a trauma-focused approach to help you get to know yourself again — or maybe even for the first time."

The group will meet every Monday at the same time, with the final session on Dec. 12.
