Clips4Sale Scores Legal Victory, Seizes Typosquatting Domain

GENEVA, Switzerland — Clips4Sale and their legal counsel Corey Silverstein recently prevailed in a decision against the holders of Clips4Slae.com, a deliberate misspelling of their domain name targeting the same traffic.

A complaint regarding Clips4Slae was filed with the WIPO (World Intellectual Property Organization) arbitration and mediation center on Jan. 6. After an investigation, WIPO concluded that the domain was registered in bad faith.

In this specific case, WIPO concluded that the disputed domain name was "clearly selected by intentionally misspelling the Clips4Sale trademark," noted a rep. "WIPO wrote that this was 'a clear case of intentional misspelling of the Complainant’s trademark, or typosquatting,'" and ordered the domain Clips4Slae be transferred to Clips4Sale.

“I’m very pleased with WIPO’s decision in this matter. In this particular case, the registrant erroneously believed that it could hide in China,” Silverstein said.

“Brazen attempts to steal someone else’s intellectual property is not tolerable, and Clips4Sale will not hesitate to act to protect its brand and users," the noted industry attorney added.
