Swiss Navy Rolls Out Social Media Rebrand

POMPANO BEACH, Fla. — M.D. Science Lab, maker of the Swiss Navy line of lubricants, has rebranded its public social media pages as Swiss Navy Pride.

"We wanted to start 2022 out by focusing more on one of our favorite communities,” said Briana Watkins, M.D. Science VP of sales and marketing. "Swiss Navy has always been a favorite of the LGBTQIA2S+ community and we thought what better way to acknowledge every unique individual than to rebrand our social pages as Swiss Navy Pride.”

M.D. Science Regional Director of Sales & Marketing Ellen Friedman noted, “In order to capture the spirit of Swiss Navy and our approachability within the LGBTQIA2S+ community, we knew we were due for an update. We want to work together with our loyal partners to empower one another and rebranding as Swiss Navy Pride is the first step in doing that."

A rep explained the month of February is celebrated as a monthlong observation of LGBT history in the United Kingdom and 2022 marks the 50th anniversary of the first Pride march in Britain.

Rodney Wilson, a high school teacher from Missouri, started LGBT+ History Month in 1994, which is observed in October in the United States, and is now celebrated in Australia, Brazil, Canada, Germany, Greenland, Hungary and elsewhere.

"Our social community is tight-knit,” said Penny Clifford, M.D. Science social media manager. “It seemed fitting to create this rebranding strategy that reflects the evolution of Pride and our vision of Swiss Navy’s future.”
