Swiss Navy Recognizes 'Love Your Body' Day

POMPANO BEACH, Fla. —  M.D. Science Lab, maker of the Swiss Navy brand, is supporting "Love Your Body Day" today.

Founded in 1998 by the National Organization for Women (NOW), the goal of "Love Your Body" is to encourage people to speak out against demeaning images of women and celebrate women in all their diverse sizes, shapes and colors.

“Swiss Navy recognizes this day as it was intended but asks that we all go further and allow it to remind us that people are more than how we are portrayed in the media and viewed by society,” a rep explained. “Together we can combat the influence of media by focusing on what is realistic and healthy for each of us.”

M.D. Science VP of Sales and Marketing Briana Watkins shared insights from relevant research.

“I’m sure you’ve heard media stating that 'sex sells,'" Watkins said. “Numerous studies conducted in the last decade have found that objectification is psychologically toxic and, in some cases, can lead people to suffer from sexual dysfunction, which is exactly what we at Swiss Navy are hoping to help people overcome.”

Swiss Navy offers a range of products that focus on "personal empowerment and support natural bodily functions — all with an intention of encouraging people to love their bodies."

“Beauty comes from within and by consciously reminding ourselves that each and every body is beautiful, we can help others practice more self-acceptance,” Watkins said.
