New Zealand's AdultToyMegaStore 1st Adult Retailer to Win at Wellington Gold Awards

WELLINGTON, New Zealand — AdultToyMegaStore.com (ATMS) is celebrating a win from the 2021 Wellington Gold Awards held at the TSB Arena on July 29, marking the first time an adult retailer has been either a finalist or a winner in the 23-year history of the business-focused awards.

A company rep noted the Wellington Gold Awards "celebrate excellence and enterprise of businesses in New Zealand's Wellington region. This year saw the awards receive its largest number of entries since launching in 1999, and almost 1,000 people attended the award ceremony."

ATMS won the "Supporting Gold" category, sponsored by Beca, which recognizes "the best Wellington infrastructure and professional services providers. Finalists for the category included Fulton Hogan, Lowe & Co Realty, Cuttriss Consultants, Quantum Security Services and The Akina Foundation."

ATMS Owner Nicola Relph accepted the honor and said the win is "a testament to the normalization of sex toys and the concept of sexual wellness in New Zealand."

“When we founded ATMS in Wellington in 2009, we certainly didn’t think we’d ever be a finalist in mainstream awards like the Wellington Gold Awards, let alone winning them. In fact, sex toys carried a stigma," Relph said. "But we wanted to remove that by creating a clean, inviting, safe and discreet online shopping experience for New Zealanders to buy adult toys. We wanted to educate people about sexual wellness, remove the stigma and normalize pleasure. Twelve years on, we’re proud to be New Zealand’s leading online retailer for everything adult."

"This award proves that sex toys have finally made it to mainstream New Zealand," added Relph. "We’re so thankful to our loyal customers, and to New Zealand, for being open-minded about the concept of sexual wellness and we’re so proud to be part of the driving force behind the normalization of pleasure in New Zealand."
