Megacams Beta Launches Content Monetization Platform

LOS ANGELES — Megacams has announced the launch of Megacams Beta, a newly reworked version of the long-running site that empowers content creators to monetize videos and pictures and interact with fans via their profile wall.

A rep explained Megacams Beta also integrates efficiently with a variety of camming platforms, including BongaCams, Chaturbate and ImLive, among others. The integration displays the livestream on the performer's profile page when they are hosting a show.

"We planned on launching Megacams Beta a few months ago, but somehow COVID-19 showed up," the rep told XBIZ. "The company behind Megacams is a tech company at its core; besides that, we are a fully remote company with people all across the globe."

"Megacams Beta is a very early product, with lots of things to improve," the rep continued. "We decided to [beta] launch to get as much feedback as possible from the market — all models, for example, get access to our invite-only model chat so we can work closely with them. We consider ourselves a start-up and want to ship fast and get feedback as soon as possible."

The site is currently offering a 50/50 split with content creators with payouts via Paxum; additional options will be enabled within the next few weeks.

"This can look conservative in contrast to other platforms, but we want to make sure these models get promoted correctly and this simply needs a re-investment," the rep explained. "I'm very sure in the future when we have more data and experience we will revisit this number; we do not want to overpromise something to models and want to be fair."

With the release of Megacams Beta, explained the rep, they have "the right building blocks in place to build things fast and experiment. We have some big ideas when it comes to content delivery, smart links, API integration, the use of AI in different parts of our web app, and many more. So please stay tuned."

"We are sure we can make a huge difference by being a young start-up company with brilliantly talented people on board," noted the rep. "Megacams also wants to contribute to lifting the stigma on the adult industry and adult workers. We want to be transparent and supportive of everything we do. We are working very hard to get independent content producers on board and to make sure the content gets in front of the right visitors to create fans."

And, concluded the rep, "the first 100 models that are verified get a small gift."
