ASACP Names CAM4, KatesTube.com, FUBAR Webmasters as Featured Sponsors for October 2020

LOS ANGELES — The Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection (ASACP) has named CAM4, KatesTube.com and FUBAR Webmasters as its Featured Sponsors for October 2020.

ASACP’s monthly Featured Sponsors are among the industry’s most respected companies and are prime examples of how responsible business practices, ethical operation and social awareness can serve to protect minors from accidental exposure to age-restricted materials, explained a rep.

According to Executive Director Tim Henning, the association encourages all companies and organizations to take a caring, leadership role, and join in the fight to keep minors out of and away from adult-oriented materials by sponsoring ASACP and its efforts.

“The ongoing COVID crisis continues to pose challenges for the industry and for our association as well, with little certainty towards the road ahead,” Henning said. “Upcoming virtual events may shed some light on this evolving situation and how it will impact our child safety initiatives as the industry moves forward.”

“Through the proactive leadership of industry stakeholders, ASACP continues to provide free educational resources and safety tools,” Henning added. “Together, we are making a positive difference for today’s constantly-connected youth.”

The support that ASACP receives from its sponsors, such as CAM4, KatesTube.com and FUBAR Webmasters, explained the rep, “enable it to continue its near 24-year record of success and to provide a range of educational and informational resources,” including market-specific Best Practices, and a Code of Ethics for online businesses, app publishers and operators of age-restricted websites.

October's Featured Sponsors

These are the ASACP descriptions of their October sponsors:

CAM4

An ASACP Title Sponsor and Advisory Council Member whose support extends back to 2012, CAM4 is vigilant about online child protection, due to its operation of live video chat sites where minors not only attempt to access these platforms but, by misrepresenting their age, attempt to become paid performers on them.

The global nature of this business (with varying documentation requirements in different jurisdictions) and the physical separation between the company and its contractors, make it a daunting proposition to ensure that performers, let alone viewers, are of legal age. Because of these challenges, ASACP offers a stringent set of Best Practices tailored to the specific needs of live cam site operators, which CAM4 benefits from. CAM4 also takes additional measures such as the use of the RTA label to block children from its site; illustrating a caring, proactive approach to keeping children safe.

These steps also include a warning page overlay that notifies viewers that no CP is present on the site and that anyone posting or seeking underage material would be reported to authorities, with the company aiding in the prosecution of these users — sending a clear message that it will not tolerate children accessing or being displayed on the CAM4 site.

KatesTube.com

Since 2019, KatesTube.com has been a proud Corporate Sponsor of ASACP.

“We will cooperate with this organization in order to make the internet safer and cleaner to use,” a company spokesperson said. “We are not content creators. However, we monitor the site on a regular basis to ensure that we abide by all relevant policies and guidelines, such as 18 USC 2257.”

“We encourage other tube sites to step up to an industry leadership role by sponsoring ASACP,” the spokesperson added. “Let’s work together to make a difference in online child safety.”

FUBAR Webmasters

An ASACP In-Kind Media Sponsor since 2009, FUBAR Webmasters offers an online resource site for all party, conference, convention and event pictures and news relating to adult website owners, operators, affiliates and service providers.

“It occurred to me that the [photos] might be of interest to people who didn’t make it to the shows for one reason or another,” company owner JFK said of his desire to educate and entertain those operators working in the adult entertainment industry. It is an educational process that helps promote the effort to protect children online, with JFK setting an example by using a warning page and rating meta tag on his website’s homepage, along with providing links to parental filtering and child protection tools.

“ASACP appreciates the generosity of its industry-leading sponsors, such as CAM4, KatesTube.com and FUBAR Webmasters, which empower the association to carry out its tireless mission to protect today’s constantly connected youth,” Henning concluded. “ASACP’s Featured Sponsors demonstrate that perseverance, positivity, proactive leadership and corporate responsibility continue to make a difference.”
