NAPA, Calif. — Vibratex, the exclusive distributor of the Magic Wand Original, Magic Wand Plus, and Magic Wand, has announced a limited-edition Pride Month pin featuring Magic Wand, along with other prizes, with proof of donation during June.
“June is Pride Month, a time to celebrate LGBTQ identities as well as commemorate activism,” said a rep. “With this spirit in mind, the iconic, world-renowned true Magic Wand is holding a charitable drive to support California’s LGBTQ Connection and Louisiana’s Forum for Equality.”
Vibratex Owner and VP Shay Martin explained that “Pride is a time for celebration, but the joy of celebrating should also include acknowledging the decades of hard work that have been done to uplift LGBTQ voices — and all the work that’s still sorely needed.”
“We chose to support Napa-based LGBTQ Connection to help our small local community since our town is mainly tourism-focused. We feel the LGBTQ community may need a stronger voice in this little valley that is so wine-centric,” Martin added.
Martin said Vibratex is “also choosing to support Forum for Equality, an organization that works actively in Louisiana, a state that still struggles significantly with equality and legislation that, for example, up until 2014 banned the use of vibrators in the state.”
“In Louisiana, the LGBTQ community needs support to overcome archaic laws and views,” she continued. “Both groups are working hard to drive wider cultural change and acceptance.”
Those looking to support LBGTQ Connection and/or Forum for Equality via Vibratex’s Pride Pin initiative may make a donation directly to one or both of the organizations.
Depending on the amount, the donor will receive one of the following “prizes” from Vibratex:
- $10 donation: Vibratex will match the donation and you will receive one Pride pin (up to 1,000 total donations)
- $15 donation: Vibratex will match the donation and you will receive one Pride pin AND one additional pin of choice (up to 1,000 total donations)
- $40 donation receives one Magic Wand Plus and one Pride pin (up to 1,000 total donations)
To receive the corresponding “prize” from Vibratex, those interested should submit documentation of the donation —such as a screengrab of the receipt — and indicate a preferred choice of second pin, shipping address and email address to this website.
Submissions that do not include full documentation cannot be processed. The pin drive donation period ends on June 30 at 12 midnight (PDT). Donation documentation must be submitted no later than July 15 at 12 midnight (PDT). Recipients must be over the age of 18 and located in the United States or Canada.
