LOS ANGELES — As either voluntary or mandated quarantines go into effect worldwide, Eva Oh, also known as Mistress Eva, a lifestyle and pro-Domme, has reported a boom in her online BDSM training courses.
According to Oh, her site, YouWillPleaseMe.com, has experienced an "unprecedented number of member sign-ups" as of recent.
While measures to keep coronavirus from spreading have driven folks inside and online in search of entertainment, Oh observed, “it seems that for many, there is quite an interest in learning the basics of kink and BDSM while cooped up at home. I am very happy about it, but I can’t say I’m surprised.”
Oh, who co-hosts the "Safeword" podcast and makes herself available as a speaker and educator for sexuality workshops worldwide, is currently focusing on the online aspect of her business as would-be kinksters seek her out for at-home advice.
“The rise of kink in modern society is nothing new, but what’s interesting about this period of time —where our daily lives have ground to a halt and we’re always home — is the number of people with time on their hands who will take to BDSM while under quarantine,” said Oh. “I imagine it’s going to be a lot.”
