Angie Rowntree's 'Alla Prima' Named a Finalist in International Shorts Film Festival

LOS ANGELES — Director and Sssh.com founder Angie Rowntree’s “Alla Prima” has been named a finalist in the Best Erotic/Adult Short Film category of the International Shorts Film Festival (ISFF).

The selection as a finalist means that “Alla Prima” will be screened along with other ISFF winners and finalists at the festival itself, which runs from December 6-12 in Melbourne, Australia.

“I am honored to have my work named as a finalist and very excited about ‘Alla Prima’ being screened at the upcoming International Shorts Film Festival,” Rowntree said. “I’m so proud of this film and the incredible performances of Ava Mir-Ausziehen and Malcolm Lovejoy. The connection and intimacy between them are so intense that you can truly feel the passion build as the film unfolds.”

While Rowntree is known for her story-driven features, “Alla Prima” takes a different approach, offering a film driven almost entirely by its visual elements. Together, Mir-Ausziehen and Lovejoy craft a scene which goes beyond mere sexual intertwining.

“The performers serve as a collective canvas, creating a living painting which changes with each touch, kiss and caress,” Rowntree enthused. “Cool blues and rich golds cascade down their bodies as the intense, mutual pleasure builds.”

While the sex in Rowntree’s films is always artful, in ‘Alla Prima,’ the unification of sex and art becomes literal.

“I’m always looking for different ways to explore new territory in erotic film,” Rowntree added. “Each different film is its own world, whether it’s a feature or a short. In the world of ‘Alla Prima,’ the focus is on the message Ava and Malcolm send with their bodies, which is all about the beauty that people both create and embody when they’re making love.”
