Wicked Pictures Celebrates 13 XRCO Noms

LOS ANGELES — Wicked Pictures and its collaborators have collectively received over a dozen nominations in the areas of performance, direction and production for the 2019 X-Rated Critics Organization (XRCO) Awards.

Blockbuster director Brad Armstrong notably swept up a Best Director nom in the feature category, with his hit title “Fallen II: Angels & Demons” garnering a Best Release nomination and lead actress Jessica Drake snagging a Best Actress nod for her performance. A second Armstrong-directed production, “Camgirl,” saw up-and-comer Kristen Scott earning a Best Actress nomination as well.

Parody veteran Axel Braun’s “Deadpool XXX: An Axel Braun Parody” scored a trifecta of nominations including Best Director (Parody), Parody of the Year and Best Actor for Seth Gamble’s performance as Wade Wilson. Braun’s first original drama in over a decade, the black and white thriller “The Possession of Mrs. Hyde” earned the director nominations for both Best Release and Best Director in the feature categories, while Avi Love's performance earner her a Best Actress nom.

In other feature categories, veteran filmmaker Mike Quasar's “Making Ends Meet” earned a Best Comedy nomination, while Ryan Mclane was recognized with a Best Actor nom for his work in Jonathan Morgan's “Cursed.” The Wicked Reality title “Snatch Chat” was also nominated in the Best Gonzo Release category.

Winners will be announced in June at the XRCO's annual industry-only gala.

A company spokesperson commented, “Wicked Pictures is pleased to congratulate all the nominees, and thanks the XRCO for recognizing the work of their contract talent and the many independent performers, directors and crews who continue to contribute to the Wicked brand's ongoing success.”

Outside a warehouse on a scorching, treeless frontage road in Compton, there is little to suggest that a movie is being made behind its nondescript walls. Similar buildings across the Southwest frequently house adult productions, their unassuming exteriors concealing carefully lit sets where crews labor over every visual detail.
