Fort Troff Talks Business With 'Commerce Marketer' Podcast

ATLANTA — Fort Troff’s Nate Martin and Kyle Randall talked the business of adult, including email marketing via Oracle Bronto, with Oracle’s “The Commerce Marketer” podcast, now streaming.

Martin currently serves as VP of the venerable all-male niche-oriented retail site, while Randall is the marketing director.

Martin notes that Fort Troff’s email marketing program helped him build and rebrand his business. “The landscape has totally changed, and it becomes harder and harder to fight for that real estate in the in-box,” he said. “Email was the only thing that we had going for us… that’s how we built the business. It was the most talked-about the thing for people in the community. It got very good word of mouth. And the list just grew and grew and grew."

Randall said the process of building their email list required hands-on tinkering. “I’m really proud of the work we’ve done so far and the results that we’ve seen,” he said. “It took a lot of testing and a lot of alterations and a lot of placing myself in the customer’s footprints as they go through this journey and what would entice me more, what would I like to see, and what’s not going to annoy me."

Fort Troff was founded in 2000 and bills itself as a leader in adult novelties and fetish gear for gay men. Follow the retailer online and on Twitter.
