CYBERSPACE — Angelina Castro has been tapped as a guest commentator Saturday on the Spanish-language talk show “Teresa” to discuss the recent R. Kelly controversy.
She will appear on the megaTV program in the 5 p.m. PDT hour to discuss the fallout from the recent Lifetime network docuseries "Surviving R. Kelly."
"I am always happy to be asked to be a guest on mainstream television,” Castro said. "'Teresa’ is a very popular show on megaTV and it's not only great exposure, but also a great chance to discuss a topic that really bothers me. The exploitation of women is something that happens in our industry. Getting a chance to discuss these issues in a thoughtful way is important."
Castro was the first adult star to appear on Telemundo and has made frequent appearances across Spanish-language media. "I was sometimes put on Spanish television because of my over-the-top appearance,” she said. “It's nice to be accepted on mainstream even though my image is changing."
In related news, Castro hosted a party earlier this month to tub-thump crossing one million followers on Instagram. She also recently inked a pact to serve as brand ambassador for Garner’s Garden all-natural skincare and wellness products.
