LOS ANGELES — Just in time for Valentine’s Day, Pure Taboo and twice-crowned XBIZ Director of the Year Bree Mills offer a unique take on unconditional — and unconventional — love, as erotic sci-fi series "Future Darkly" kicks off season two with "The Aura Doll," out today at PureTaboo.com
"'The Aura Doll' is a perfect opening episode for everything we've got planned for the second season of 'Future Darkly,'” said Mills, who wrote and directed the provocative scene. “Synthetic relationships are traditionally seen as being very taboo but, as technology, sexual discourse and the digital age advances, it is becoming an increasingly hot topic.”
"The Aura Doll" focuses on a young woman named Becca (Whitney Wright) who meets up with a handsome older man, Robert (2019 XBIZ Best Actor Tommy Pistol), who wants to participate in a threesome with Wright and his special companion Harper — a blonde, curvaceous and very lifelike silicone Aura Doll.
“This is new for me,” reveals Robert to his bewildered date. “Until I met Harper, it gave me a reason to still want to live … because what’s love? Why does it have to be only — something with a heartbeat?”
The production was done as part of a collaboration with novelty company Aura Dolls in a special placement deal, and Mills noted that “I believe we are one of the first mainstream porn companies to shoot a threesome scene featuring a synthetic woman.”
For Wright, "It was really different and unlike any other role I’d done to date. I was glad that Bree picked Tommy and me to take on these characters. I’ve seen episodes with sex dolls, but none that have a true taboo element coupled with an emotional story line to them such as ‘The Aura Doll’ does. I feel like it translated beautifully on screen."
“There's nothing more flattering than when Bree Mills messages you with ‘I have something in mind for you and only you,’” said Pistol. "I've done a lot in my career, so when I say this was a weird scene to do, that should mean something.”
He added that his co-star Wright “knocked it out the park with her performance in every way. She's definitely gaining momentum to be one of our industry's top all-around performers.”
Mills, who co-stars in "The Aura Doll" in a non-sex role, said that “we took inspiration from real-life doll owners to show a realistic portrayal of this kind of love. It is also one of the wildest sex scenes I have ever seen!"
Season two of "Future Darkly" will feature six new episodes, airing between February and July 2019.
