CalExotics, Jopen Win Creativity International Design Awards

LOS ANGELES — CalExotics and its luxury division Jopen have each won a 2018 Creativity International Award for their collections, California Dreaming and Pavé.

Since 1970, Creativity International Design Awards celebrates exceptional graphic design in variety of categories. Winning entries are selected for their quality and impact. The awards are open to both students and professionals around the world. The company has been awarded a Creativity International Award seven times.

“It is truly an honor to receive this prestigious award,” said Susan Colvin, founder and CEO of CalExotics. “The beautiful packaging of California Dreaming and Pavé is some of our best work, and we are thrilled to receive these awards.”

Entries came from 25 countries, one Canadian province and 14 U.S. states. CalExotics and JOPEN were recognized along with many well-known companies such as PepsiCo and MTV.

CalExotics’ California Dreaming collection is described as evoking the true “California Dream” of sun, surf, and sand. The bright colors of the toys and packaging are reminiscent of the bold California natives themselves and the famous California sunsets.

“We wanted the colors of the California Dreaming collection to be bright, fun, and full of personality, just like the people that live here,” adds Colvin. “The range of colors mimics the beautiful California Beach sunsets that take out breath away.”

Named after classic Hollywood stars and iconic royalty, products in the Pavé collection are adorned with a diamond-like setting. Each Pavé product comes in a unique jewel-shaped box.

Senior Graphic Designer for CalExotics, Christina Gonsowski, adds, “As designers, we put our heart and soul into our work. It is incredible to see our work in the adult novelty space being recognized globally.”
