SpankChain, 2 Other Blockchain Companies Win $420,000 Grant

CYBERSPACE — The Ethereum Foundation this week awarded about $3 million in grants to a number of blockchain startups and developers as part of its ongoing grant program.

SpankChain, which launched its blockchain-based infrastructure for the adult industry last November,  was one of the recipients of the grants program that was founded to aid in the development of decentralized applications (dapps) and smart contract technology.

In its fourth wave this week, the foundation awarded 20 different individuals or groups for work on client diversity, usability, scalability, security and for building tools.

SpankChain received a $420,000 grant together with developers Kyokan and Connext to complete an open-source software developer's kit (SDK) for a noncustodial payment channel hub.

The largest grants went to developers Prysmatic Labs and Status, each receiving $500,000 to build ethereum 2.0 clients.
