Gregory Dorcel to Keynote XBIZ Berlin

LOS ANGELES — XBIZ is pleased to announce Marc Dorcel chief and scion Gregory Dorcel will deliver the keynote address for next month’s XBIZ Berlin show, sharing a visionary perspective that guided his brand to become emblematic of industry excellence.

“We are very pleased to participate in XBIZ Berlin,” Dorcel said. “It was a pleasure to be invited to speak at this great show, to come and share our experiences as one of the historical leaders of our industry in Europe.”

Providing nearly 40 years of pleasure to fans around the world, Marc Dorcel began its storied brand in 1979. A fan of Art Deco and industrial design, with a military background and business interests ranging from transportation to direct mail and beyond, Marc began his career in 1968 publishing erotic stories before embracing video and other emerging technologies — a legacy reflected in the company’s ongoing commitment to being a new media pioneer.

“We will talk about our history and the evolutions and revolutions that we have experienced,” Dorcel added, “and reveal the foreseen future.”

The studio’s freshman title was 1979’s “Jolies Petites Garces” (“Pretty Little Bitches”), which established the “Dorcelian style” of superb young posh women wearing stylishly enticing underwear, combined with finely-crafted sets and well-arranged actors and actresses blended into a refined eroticism balanced by hardcore scenes. Today, Marc Dorcel boasts a catalog of more than 800 titles available in 56 countries and 13 languages, with more than 36 new features produced annually — all while serving an extensive array of broadcast and other distribution outlets. In addition, the company operates seven stores in France, offering some of the largest selections of adult products, including its own extensive line of Dorcel-branded pleasure products.

Marc’s son Gregory joined the company in 1996, helming international development and various multimedia projects before taking the reins at the forefront of one of Europe’s most prestigious adult brands.

“The name ‘Dorcel’ exemplifies sheer excellence and is synonymous with premium erotica round the world,” XBIZ Founder and Publisher Alec Helmy said. “We of course feel very privileged to host Gregory’s keynote and feel it underscores our unparalleled commitment to providing the most compelling insights to our international audience.”

XBIZ’s annual European conference in Berlin takes place September 9-12, culminating with the inaugural XBIZ Europa Awards. Home to one of Europe’s most vigorous markets for adult entertainment and one of the most affordable cities in Europe, Berlin is easy to reach from anywhere in the world, accessible to industry members from across Europe and beyond.

Echoing the elegance of the gold-standard XBIZ Awards show, the first-ever XBIZ Europa Awards, hosted by legendary Italian adult performer, director and producer Rocco Siffredi, will recognize outstanding achievements across the full breadth of the adult industry, encompassing Web & Technology, Movies & Production and Retail.

As with all XBIZ events, XBIZ Berlin will offer a cutting-edge array of educational sessions and executive networking activities, including Dorcel’s Keynote Address, along with exclusive special events and more.

XBIZ Berlin will return to the ultra-chic and modern Catalonia Berlin Mitte Hotel on Köpenicker Strasse, conveniently located in the city’s Mitte district and a short stroll from local attractions such as Alexanderplatz and historical Nikoleiviertel, the hub of Berlin nightlife and entertainment.

A limited number of rooms are available for only €122 per night (~$144 U.S. dollars), which includes breakfast and a three-course luncheon buffet.
