YouPorn Partners With Future of Sex for Sextech Hackathon in N.Y.

NEW YORK — YouPorn today announced its title sponsorship with Future of Sex’s Sextech Hackathon in New York.

The weekend-long hackathon, running Friday through Sunday, brings together female identifying designers, developers, marketers, entrepreneurs, project managers, therapists and sexologists to collaborate, innovate and generate sextech prototypes designed with the intention of enhancing human sexuality and human sexual experience.

Future of Sex’s Sextech Hackathon is an interactive fusion of people, ideas and technology. Hundreds of people from different backgrounds will come together to address challenges in contemporary sexuality and aim to solve them via technology.

Notable solutions from previous hackathons have seen voice-activated vibrators for people with physical disabilities, as well as AI-platforms to help get to know your partner better, among others. Participants will compete against each other in a “Shark Tank”-style event, where ideas are developed into businesses then pitched in front of leading industry leaders.

“We are thrilled to partner with Future of Sex as the official sponsor of Sextech Hackathon,” said Kyle Walford, director of product at YouPorn.

“As technology continues to transform the way we relate to each other, it also redefines the way we look at the modern sex-positive movement. The plethora of content, technology and connection options available to individuals around the world can be overwhelming.

This partnership allows us to leverage our technology know-how and focus on the unexplored area of how these innovations will affect intimacy or impact the mutual experience you create with others.”

YouPorn will assist in leading the Sextech Accelerator Program, which consists of a 10-week program that winning talent will go through following the hackathon.

During this time, YouPorn will provide the winning team with data, research and insight that can help them bring their idea to life through prototyping or validating the solution.

"We are focused on making space for, and elevating the voices and perspectives of, women-identified people, although we support inclusion of all genders and sexualities,” said Bryony Cole, CEO of the Future of Sex.

“We believe that women-identified technologies and thinkers can influence the direction of this market, while also changing the cultural conversation and attitudes toward female sexuality. This event is designed to be open to all, but our ambition is for women's voices to be contributing elements to all projects arising from our event.”
