LOS ANGELES — Wicked Pictures has announced that "Axel Braun's Brown Sugar 2" received Best All-Sex Release honors at the 10th Urban X Awards, which were held Sunday evening, Aug. 19, at the Globe Theatre in Downtown L.A.
The Urban X Awards were presided over by hosts Cindy Starfall, Richelle Ryan and Ricky Johnson, with additional guest emceeing provided by James Bartholet. Wicked was represented by contract directors Axel Braun and Brad Armstrong, and by Avi Love, the star of Braun's first all-original feature in 15 years, the upcoming "The Possession of Mrs. Hyde."
“What an incredible honor to be recognized by such an extraordinary group of people," said Braun, who shared the stage with "Brown Sugar 2" cover star September Reign as he received his award. “I was lucky to have a phenomenal cast led by the fantastic September Reign, and I am very grateful and absolutely humbled. It was my first time attending the Urban X Awards, and definitely a night to remember!"
Reign said, "Winning this award and sharing this moment with Axel Braun, my favorite director, meant everything to me. I had no idea I was the cover model until I saw the ad, and that scene was one of my best — thank you so much Tommy Pistol for being my amazing co-star — so to win this award is very gratifying. I can’t wait to be a part of many more Wicked movies, this is only the beginning. This movie and my scene in it will hopefully win many more awards this year.“
Braun won two XBIZ Awards this year, in Best Art Direction for "Justice League XXX: An Axel Braun Parody," as well as Best Sex Scene in an All-Sex release for his first "Brown Sugar" title. His role of Wonder Woman for Romi Rain helped propel her to win the 2018 XBIZ Female Performer of the Year trophy this past January.
For her part, Reign made her mark at Wicked with her breakout performance in Brad Armstrong's "Ethni*City," which received Feature Release of the Year and Best Black Release honors at the 2017 Urban X Awards. Reign's pairing with Tommy Pistol in "Brown Sugar 2" was supported by work from Jenna Foxx, 2018 XBIZ Best New Starlet Honey Gold, Mya Mays, Daya Knight, Seth Gamble (the star of Braun’s upcoming "Deadpool XXX"), Justin Hunt, Ike Diezel and 2018 XBIZ Male Performer of the Year Small Hands.
The Urban X Awards were founded in 2008 by Giana Taylor, whose stated goal is to "recognize, spotlight and honor the finest achievements in all areas of adult video entertainment by celebrating diversity, creativity and unity."
