LOS ANGELES — Misha Cross has announced her directorial debut for Evil Angel Films, "Misha in Exile," which is slated for a Sept. 19 release.
Cross told XBIZ, "The idea for the movie was born when I realized life somehow put me in a corner and I needed to do something about it, to get out of this limbo. Being a very succesful performer in the U.S. and then going through the drama of not being able to return until 2019 was heartbreaking but also motivating. I made my anger move me in a creative way. I really wanted to tell my story, show people that I didn't just disappear from the U.S. industry like that.
"I've been through the most difficult setback someone can imagine and you don't really realize your strength until something like this happens," she told XBIZ. "I spoke to John (Stagliano) about it, showed him the first scene we shot in November last year, he loved it and encouraged me to carry on with the project. Getting a directorial deal for Evil Angel has always been my biggest dream and I'm extremely honoured to join the Evil family.
"With this showcase movie being my directorial debut, I hope I'm bringing some new quality to porn by incorporating luxurious beautifully shot teases that could as well be a music video alone, with hardcore gonzo," Cross expressed to XBIZ. "That's what I'm aiming for. I'm thankful to Evil Angel and my work partner Lucky Red for teaming up with me to create new titles. This is a very very special movie to me, a new chapter and a new beginning ... we are just getting started!"
