LOS ANGELES — An 83-year-old man named Norm Self, who made his gay porn debut earlier this year, captured the attention of HuffPost readers today after he answered a few questions about the joys of sex and jumping into adult entertainment.
Self made his debut scene with Blake Mitchell and Joey Mills on Davey Wavey’s Himeros.tv, which launched in February.
Himeros.tv is described by Wavey as “an erotic playground for men who have sex with men.”
In the HuffPost piece, Self said that he’s a “sacred intimate,” a teacher who helps people of all genders explore the healing power of sexual pleasure. He also noted that he’s a participant of the Body Electric School, which seeks to blend sexuality and spirituality.
So, for Self, the act of getting involved in pornography, even in his senior years, was normal and natural.
He told the HuffPost that his first porn scene was “splendid! How could it not be?”
“[I was in] a blessed rural setting, surrounded by a cast and crew of loving, competent, supportive brothers intent on sharing the good news of the healing power of pleasure," he said. "What could be more delightful? And if you’ve seen the video, with the two adorable models “performing,” what else could be lacking?”
As for sex, Self said that those who benefit learn to pay attention and look for the subtleties.
“Learn to notice, to enjoy, and to give thanks for those subtler things in life that make it more enjoyable. And learn how to genuinely love every partner you have sex with — at least while you are having sex! And learn that there are many other ‘erogenous zones’ than just your genitals. Get really acquainted with and train your mind — that’s your greatest sex organ.”
