Feelmore's Nenna Joiner Tosses Hat in Ring for Congressional Seat

OAKLAND, Calif. — After being certified with 42 votes by the Alameda County Registrar’s office, Nenna Joiner has become a write-in candidate for a congressional seat in the 13th District of the Bay Area.

Joiner, who owns and operates the well-known Feelmore Adult Gallery sex toy and novelty store, is asking constituents to pen in “Feelmore” on the ballot line.  

“Write-in means the name doesn’t show up on the ballot, therefore it takes more effort to get people out to vote besides remembering your name,” Joiner said.

“Using ‘Feelmore’ as my ballot write-in name was an easy decision, and I think some people will take it as cheap advertising,” Joiner said. “However, I am not seeking degrade the process but make it easier for all to vote for me using an alias as a write-in candidate.

“‘Feelmore’ just so happens to be the name of my business which is a sex shop. I plan to use ‘Feelmore’ the same way that Harvey Milk used his camera store. That is my goal.”

Joiner, a 25-year Oakland resident, believes that with a strong community backing she can win a spot in the California primary election come November.

The 13th District, where she seeks a seat, comprises the cities of Alameda, Albany, Berkeley, Emeryville, Oakland, Piedmont and San Leandro.
