LOS ANGELES — Wasteland has announced they are holding a contest that will give members the opportunity to direct an upcoming adult movie, via a Skype collaboration.
According to a company rep, "If you’ve seen any of the 'Fifty Shades' movies, did you find yourself watching the sex scenes and thinking 'If I had been the director, that would have been much hotter?'
"It doesn’t matter if you’ve never taken a single course in filmmaking, or that you might think Akira Kurosawa is a kind of sushi roll, each of us has had the experience of watching a movie and thinking of ways certain parts of it could have been done better, or at least done differently, to make it more exciting, more frightening — or in the case of a sex scene, way hotter," they continued.
"Wasteland.com, one of the web’s oldest and longest-running porn sites of any kind (launched in 1994!) recently launched a contest which is giving members the opportunity to put themselves in the director’s chair — all without ever leaving their own chair. Once the winner has been determined (via a monthly drawing), they can direct the action via Skype."
Wasteland Director Colin Rowntree added, “We have been holding member crowdsourcing contests like this for over 20 years now, but by adding in the live Skype video interaction during the shoot, I anticipate that this is going to bring a whole new exciting element into this as the member is actually 'on set' with our cast and crew for a unique behind the scenes look at a shoot and to be able to provide requests and cues to the actors.”
