LOS ANGELES — Yesterday on “Sluts & Scholars,” co-hosts Nicoletta Heidegger and Simone talked with Bitsy LaBourbon from the outreach and educational group MoreThanNo.
LaBourbon discusses her Cabaret Con-sensual event, a burlesque and variety show created for and by survivors of sexual assault and their allies. Tickets to Cabaret Con-sensual can be purchased here.
Additionally, Heidegger and Simone host a weekly live show every Thursday on Sirius XM Channel 415 from 2-3 p.m. (PDT). Yesterday the show featured adult performers Shauna Skye and Rion King.
“Bitsy is a bright and sparkly human who does wonders with her performance activism,” Heidegger said. “I have already been to two Cabaret Con-sensuals and I am so glad there is a space for survivors to gather together and support one another through creativity. Bitsy helps us remember that being a survivor does not mean you can't be sexy!”
