HOLLYWOOD — 2014 XBIZ Female Performer of the Year Riley Reid leads Adam & Eve Pictures’ newest feature, “The Cursed XXX.”
Written by Will Ryder, the title is a departure for the director who typically focuses on adult parodies, musicals and comedies, with Ryder now trekking into the thriller porn genre with a paranormal-themed movie set to be released later this spring.
“The Cursed XXX” marks a reunion for Ryder with Reid, who he last directed in 2013’s adult musical for Adam & Eve, “Grease XXX: A Parody.”
“Riley is a dream come true in every way,” Ryder said. “She’s a very talented actress, she doesn’t bitch and moan, she’s very helpful with acting suggestions and willing to spend endless hours on set.”
“Plus, I think she’s going to surprise a lot of people with the role she played in this movie,” Ryder added. “I’ve loved her since the moment I met her six or seven years ago and her character Abigail is really creepy.”
This movie is seen as a benchmark for Ryder, with actor/director Brad Armstrong playing the male lead.
“It was a hunch of mine to call Brad on the phone and see if he even wanted to be in our movie,” Ryder remembered. “I wasn’t even sure he would take my call but he did and his performance is spectacular.”
“I have a lot of respect for him both as an actor but also as a director of sensational acclaim so just imagine how thrilled I was and I’ll admit now, how nervous I was the first day on set with him,” Ryder revealed. “Coolest dude around though and wow what a performance.”
In addition to Reid and Armstrong, “The Cursed XXX” also features Kat Dior, Sarah Vandella, Misty Stone, Holly Hendrix, Nia Nacci, Chloe Scott, Victoria June, Maya Bijou, Ziggy Star, Lucky Starr and Veronica Valentine, along with Seth Gamble, Chad White, Mike Mancini, Frank Bukkwyd, Connor Kennedy, Eric John and James Bartholet.
The production also tapped stunt masters Dick Chibbles and Jack Vegas to coordinate a number of complex body stunts using body doubles supplied by 1AM Doll USA.
“1AM Doll really came through in a big way,” said co-producer Scott David, “by supplying us with life size sex dolls that we used for the more dangerous stunts.”
“Believe me when I tell you, their dolls weigh eighty-five pounds and are very lifelike,” Ryder concluded. “We caught a few of our crewmembers with their pants around their ankles.”
