The existing website, logo, graphics, affiliate relationships and business plans will also be included as part of the sale and will be transferred to the new buyer.
“The Dutch auction will enable potential buyers to bid the amount they feel the site is worth,” said a spokesperson for the site. “Since so many variables go into appraising domain names and web sites, many of them subjective, the owners have received a wide range of valuations for the site and the existing assets. This way the marketplace can determine the value.”
With Dutch auctions, bidding starts at a fixed amount and then the bid amount decreases in regular increments as time progresses.
